Understand that due to all that is included with the rental of this 38 acre property, WE ARE VERY SELECTIVE about who we allow to rent our home. There are terms and conditions we wish to make very clear so that we are not wasting your time in your search for the rental property that is right for you.
Candidly, if you are looking for a place to party loud … or tear around on your ATV’s, Serendipity Shores is NOT the place for you. If you are looking to relax and enjoy a remarkably tranquil and beautiful setting, we would be glad to explore your options for visiting this special place.
How many cabins are available at Serendipity Shores?
There is one fully equipped house on the property. Tents and RV’s may be considered on a per rental basis and are not permitted unless previously approved by the Owners.
How many people can the house accommodate?
There are beds to sleep 14 although groups larger than 10 are considered on a per rental basis. There is a per person daily fee for additional people over the 10 person group size.
What is required to make a reservation?
Booking to stay at Serendipity Shores starts with an inquiry by email which can be sent from here. We do give preference to previous and referred renters but are always excited to explore options and get to know new families. Let us know if you have a specific date in mind and we will do our best to accommodate your plans.
A $500 security deposit is required to book a reservation at Serendipity Shores with the outstanding balance due 45 days prior to the first day of occupancy. If a booking is made less than 30 days prior to the rental period, the full amount including the security deposit is due upon booking and can be paid by e-transfer in Canadian funds.
What is your Cancellation and Refund Policy?
Written notice is required a minimum of 30 days prior to occupancy for cancellation of any Rental. Depending on the situation, all monies paid by deposit or other, less the $100.00 administration fee will be reimbursed.
The Property Owners may cancel a Rental by providing a minimum of 30 days’ notice to the rental party.
Are security deposits required?
A $500 security deposit must be paid to confirm a booking at Serendipity Shores. This deposit will be refunded in full or in part within 15 days after the last day of occupancy provided there is no damage beyond normal wear to the house, its contents or outdoor amenities. There is a $300 cleaning deposit and a separate pet deposit (if required).
Is there a minimum booking period?
One week (6 night) rentals are available between May and October. With enough notice, additional days may be added at a prorated daily rate to extend the visit.
What time are check in and check out?
Unless otherwise arranged:
- Arrival is at 4:00 p.m.
- Departure is by 11:00 a.m.
How do I make payments?
Deposits and rental payments can be made by e-transfers made payable in Canadian funds.
How do I get access into the property?
Rental instructions including directions to the property and a lockbox code will be emailed 2 weeks prior to occupancy.
Are linens and towels provided?
The house is fully equipped with bedding, (including pillows, quilts and sheets), bathroom and outdoor towels. We do request our renters attend their laundry before they leave and you are welcome to bring your own sheets and towels if you would prefer.
Is the house Non-Smoking?
Smoking and/or vaping is Not permitted in any of the structures on the property.
Due to the perpetual moderate-to-high fire risk in this arid region, careful disposal of all smoking materials is absolutely essential. Non-compliance with this rule will result in the forfeiture of the Security Deposit.
Is there Internet Service?
Serendipity Shores offers the chance to unplug and have a Digital Detox. There is no WIFI or internet available at the house, nor Cable or Satellite service to the TV. There are spots on the property where data connectivity is possible, though unpredictable.
Is there a washer & dryer available?
There is a full size washer and dryer available for renters to use during their stay, conveniently located off the kitchen on the main floor.
Are pets allowed?
Pets will not be permitted unless previously arranged with the property owners. A separate (refundable) damage deposit will be required and the facility users will be solely responsible for controlling their pets with respect to noise, wildlife, local livestock and the neighbours. Pet owners will be expected to bring their own pet bedding and kennels, to keep pets off the furniture, pillows and bedding, and to “scoop the poop” from lawn, driveway and pathways.
Is there a Cleaning Service?
There is no cleaning service provided with rental of this property. A refundable $300 cleaning fee is charged in addition to the rental fee.
The renter is required to ensure the facility and its property is left in good condition (beyond normal wear) to the satisfaction of the property owners.
An Exit checklist is provided on site. Failure to remove all garbage and recyclables will result in charges assessed against the security deposit.
Should the Facility user choose to vacuum/ sweep floors, launder towels and bedding, clean the bathrooms and leave the house in the same condition as it was found upon arrival, the $300.00 cleaning fee will be cheerfully returned in part or in full. Failure to complete the Exit Checklist will result in the cleaning fee being applied in full.
When will I receive my refundable deposits back?
We appreciate the kind care and attention to our home and the property and are always pleased to send a refund to our renters! Security, Cleaning and Pet Deposits will be returned (in full or in part) within 15 days of departure.
